Seminars on health care quality improvement delivered in Yakutsk and Ulan-Ude (Russian Federation)

Continuing effective cooperation with organizations and individuals in Russian Federation, representatives of “BONEX Engineering” presented and facilitated two two-day seminars on health care quality improvement, first in Yakutsk (June 22^nd – 24^th, 2011) and then in Ulan-Ude (June 27^th – 28^th, 2011). Seminars were presented under the general title “Quality of health care: improving management effectiveness within the context of the modernization of health systems”, with managers of health care organizations and representatives of the ministries of health as target audiences.

Prior to the seminar in Yakutsk, the conference “Quality in Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Care” took place. The conference was opened by the Minister of Health and social Welfare of Republic od Sakha (Yakutia), A. V. Gorokhov. During the Conference, Radomir Bošković presented the paper “ISO Standards as Basis for the Modernization of Health and Pharmaceutical Care”, which can be downloaded here. Both the conference and the seminar in Yakutsk were organized by our Russian partner “MMKS” and the local company “Sakhapharmacy”, with the support of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

Seminar in Yakutsk was attended by about 30 managers of different health care organizations, including those, situated on the shores of the Arctic Ocean. The seminar included discussions on different issues regarding quality management in health care, risk management, evaluation and assessment methods, and health care quality improvement.

The seminar was repeated in Ulan-Ude, capitol of the Republic of Buryatia. Here, the seminar was organized by the consulting firm “MMKS Buryatia” with the support of Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of Buryatiya. Introductory speech was given by A. O. Zandanov,, Deputy Minister of Health. About 60 managers of health care institutions from all over the republic attended the seminar. It is worth mentioning that this is the second time that «Bonex Engineering» delivers a seminar of this type. As before, participants expressed their satisfaction with presented information, and asked that the collaboration should continue.

In addition to seminars in Yakutsk and Ulan-Ude, this Siberian tour  included business meetings, visits to health facilities and local attractions. S. Corsovic and  R. Boskovic had the rare opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty and unforgettable panoramas of Lake Baikal, the Lena River, Yakutsk, Ulan-Ude and Irkutsk.
