Project of enhancing management capacities of all healthcare providers in Bosnia and Herzegovina by intensive training of hospital and Public Health Centers' directors, family medicine teams, Health Insurance Fund employees and members of governing boards of hosiptals and PHC's

Project Title: Health Sector Enhancement Project - Component 2 - Improvement of Health Sector Management Capacities

Timeframe: 2007-2010

Description: Project of health sector enhancement, which is currently realized in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is intended to support ongoing efforts to build capacities of healthcare provider managers and governing bodies to implement essential changes in service delivery at different levels of the healthcare system. "Bonex inženjering" is actively participating in this project as a member of a consortium, together with Medical faculty - School of Public Health "Andrija Štampar", Zagreb, Croatia, "Universita Bocconi"-Milan, Italy and "London School of Economics", London, UK. Project is financed by World Bank. 

This project consists of four components:

1. Professional development of PHC centers’ managers, hospital managers, board members and health insurance funds’ leaders: The professional development program is a core component of a comprehensive change program to support the rapid development of a critical mass of middle and senior level managers and health professionals from governmental agencies who can act as change agents within their organizations.  
2. Change management training for family medicine teams:   The training focuses on operational skills, required to implement change and improve performance of the FM centers.  
3. Training for HIF staff in contracting and purchasing:  The training is focused on development of core knowledge and skills needed to effectively manage contracting and purchasing functions of Health Insurance Fund.
4. Academic development of the Health Management Center and the Institute for Health Management faculty: It support development through the activities that lead to creation of essential number of academic staff needed for functioning of HMC and IHM.

Project will last three years, and during that time a large number of health professionals (over 1200 in Republic of Srpska only) will participate in various types of training.
