In hospital sector in Republic of Srpska, "Bonex Engineering" realizes a long-term, complex project intended to significantly improve quality of hospital medical services, and management effectiveness and eficacity

Project Title: Implementation of Management and Quality System in hospital sector in Republic of Srpska

Timeframe: January 2008 - December 2013

Description: The overall project objective is to support Ministry of Health and Social Welfare in its continuing effort to improve quality of medical services and effectiveness of all hospitals in Republic of Srpska, by the implementation of an effective management and quality system in all healthcare organizations of secondary and tertiary level of care.

By definition, project supports realization of National Policy on Quality in Helathcare and other strategies in health sector. 

Project is financed from the national budget.

This project consists of six sub-projects:

• Development of standards for accreditation of health institutions on secondary and tertiary levels of care and development of accreditation program for these institutions
• Development of clinical guidelines, procedures and care pathways for the most frequent conditions and diseases treated in health institutions of secondary and tertiary levels of care
• Development of a structure and processes for provision and improvement of quality of health services and management system. This includes:
  • hospital governance,
  • provision of medical services,
  • supporting processes, including laboratory and diagnostic services,
  • risk management,
  • occupational health and safety,
  • environmental protection,
  • food safety.
• Development and implementation of quality indicators and system for their monitoring and evaluation for the secondary and tertiary levels of care
• Establishment of a process of continual quality improvement in healthcare institutions of secondary and tertiary levelsof care 
• Involvement of patients and other users of medical services in all quality-related activities

By its objective and scope, this is one of the most important projects in Republic of Srpska health system, covering seven general hospitals, two psychiatric institutions, two rehabilitation institutes and two regional clinical centers.
